Empty Parks

Stay tuned…

Sorry for the slow down.  I have some actual work (of the paying variety) to finish.  More songs soon!  I promise.

Song a day 19.  Coco Piano

This was supposed to be today’s song, but I’m uploading it as yesterday’s… confused?  As you might guess from the title, I had help with this one.  Coco improved a piano jam and gave directions to mom and dad about keys to play.

Song a day 18.  Magnet to Static

This one came out of nowhere (don’t they all) after I had been working on another song for a few hours.  Possibly a repeat… too many songs to remember.

Song a day 17.  Engine

This one should be another Coco favorite.  Chug-Chug!

Song a day 16.  Situational Void to Galaxy

More can opener guitars and a voice the high school me might have have gravitated towards.

Song a day 15.  To the Trees

Glam doo-wop, maybe.

Song a day 14.  Laff Trak

You decide

Song a day 13.  Siren

I know 13… what happened to 12, right.  I’m not sure.  There are a couple of scrapped tracks that I might try to revive, but for now, I’m a day behind.

Go, go harmony!

Song a day 11.  Twin Sinus Automatic

Holy smokes, it’s not even midnight.  I was having trouble tonight, but a healthy dose of fuzz factory brought me around.

Song a day 10. Madge and Chatter.

I had bigger plans for this one.  Imagine accordion, horns, bass, and a little electric guitar.  Better drums too, but that’s kind of a given with these songs.

Anyway, I thought it might make for a good read, so follow along, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Magenta, she went calling on the local grocery store

It was just a simple errand before she went home

Chatter was in aisle three thinking he was alone

And when the regret set in she stepped into the fold

Their eyes were sympathetic through the haze of the freezer door

Her arms were full of  submarines, he didn’t ask what for

They carried on in the parking lot hours after close

They hid in her Carolla taking off their clothes

Every day for three weeks, they met in the parking lot

bleeding with discretion and a promise never to get caught

And they talked for hours about ways to go legit

Chatter was dug his heals in when magenta touched her hips

The next day it was  decided to put the car in gear

She chewed all her nails off, Chatter drank a beer

Magenta sat behind the wheel and turned the radio on

They sang along with built to spill, joyride was their song

Nothing suspicious

About two lovers in love

Mister and missus

Caution on the run

The statues at the courthouse passed in white hot bliss

And so did her apartment, where she never lived

Chatter kept his mouth shut, Magenta wrestled bold

Their secret wrapped in amber, for show but never told

Just nerves were settling, there was a light out on the green

The boy ran out from nowhere, more felt than ever seen

What just happened Chatter he heard Magenta scream

And she would tell him later, she couldn’t lift her feet

Hours passed in miles, 700 was 8 O’Clock

They each took turns driving and never asked why not

When they hit the border was the first time Magenta talked

All she said was sorry, Chatter said just drive don’t stop

22 years later and four states twice removed

Magenta went by “Sally” and she called him “Stew”

She was pumping gas one day, the police were too

She knew that she had been made when Chatter told the truth

Nothing suspicious

About two lovers in love

Mister and missus

Caution on the run
